This Amish handcrafted feeder fits standardized (Bee Mindful) Top-Bar hives and NUC boxes, and allows for in-hive feeding without opening the hive. 
It is glued together to avoid leaks. 
It replaces 2 bars, and allows for bees space between it, the floor of the hive, and the side walls (best centered in the cavity). 
 
It should be placed in the back of the nest, with at least 1 or 2 empty bars between the nest combs  and the feeder. If placed next to a bar with comb, make sure to add a 1/4in shim between the last comb and the feeder to avoid violating bee space (which would cause bees to add burr comb between the comb and the feeder). 
 
To fill, simply open the plug at the top, smoke inside the feeder if there are bees in it, and give the bees time to evacuate the feeder before pouring either thick sugar syrup (2 or more parts granulated white sugar to 1 part warm water) or ProSweet.
 
If using sugar water, empty old, fermented syrup if any left before refilling. 
The walls are rough enough to allow the bees to climb up and down without falling into the syrup.
